I had chance to see this action figure/gaming toy in a near-by mall on a demo platform and i must say the concept is quite impressive. The fact that the idea is both tradable toy and video game is a great concept, extending the shelve life for physical toys as well.
While the game itself remains standard platforming, similar to Crash Bandicoot, Mario, Sonic and others, the "portal" platform brings a fun new twist when deciding on which avatar to choose and play. As a child, seeing your favorite toy come to life in a video game surely speaks for itself.
Skylanders has a unique feel that balances simple item-collecting-enemy-bashing fun with social elements where kids can trade their favorite characters on the fly.Strengths: Trade physical toy characters and watch 'em come to life in a video game...enough said!
