Orphaned at a young age Jane Eyre (Mia Wasikowska) grows up lonely and unloved in the house of her cold hearted aunt. After enduring the harsh regimes of a charity school Jane strives for more and all life has to offer her. Hired to be the governess at the mysterious mansion Thornfield Hall Jane meets its cold, abrupt and fascinating master of the house, Mr Rochester (Michael Fassbonder).

Happiness finally seems to have found Jane when she falls in love with her employer but with a dark secret lurking in Thornfield Hall Jane is forced to make a choice between the love of her life and her convictions.
