Canon History

Canon is a Japanese company which specializes in the manufacturing of imaging and optical products such as cameras, camcorders, photocopiers, scanners and printers. Canon originally named Kwanon after the Buddhist goddess of mercy known in Japan as Kannon was founded on the 10th of August 1935. Canon is considered one of the best in the photography world. They have held the number one and two position of top performing Digital SLR camera since they introduced the EOS 30D and the EOS 300D. They produced Japan’s first 35mm camera with a focal shutter camera in 1935.
